Sickness of the old

Senator Cynthia Villar is ultimately wrong in her thinking that milk has something to do with stupidity among the youth.

To be honest, based on her display, it seems like the older a senator gets, the more they become nincompoops.

As a senator tasked with dealings on Agricultural matters, Senator Villar has consistently proved just how stupid a landlord is willing to become all for the sake of their own antisocial interest. Netizens remember her as one who rejected, downgraded and insulted pursuits to research on the country's Coconut resources. The sadness in her statement is when she claimed to be smart but does not understand research.

Basically she shares what the older generation is ailed with - generational arrogance. Senator Villar is stuck in her tiny little box of past achievements and is continuously damned to reecho them to the public. Day by day the younger generation is intoxicated with deafening, cringe-worthy recounts of old people like her, glorifying their past experiences. Only a few from the elderly actually knows how to adjust to the changjng world. Sadly, majority of them is still stuck in a point of continuous despair.

This despair can be blamed from the lack of social relevance they had in their younger years. Even public servants like Senator Villar can feel like they are unaccomplished, especially if they have moral reservations that continuously haunt them even in their sleep.

Imagine being Senator Villar, bearing the weight of the farmers she forcefully relocated to starve in urbanized cities without any consideration that a peasant's life is directly linked with the soil they till. Imagine only being able to comment that the farmers are illiterate in terms of managing their finances, and the only suggestion you were able to make is to turn them into agri-businessfolk.

What old people like Senator Villar lacks is familiarity over the context over contemporary society. Stubbornity is the elders' primary weakness. This keeps them clinging onto an old and dying concept that is in dire need to be changed for the sake of progress. But these old people detest the idea of change. They detest ideas of progress.

Or maybe they are just discriminating the recipients of progress.

Using Henry Sy as an example, he had the challenge of remaining one of the most dominant figures in business empires and is even renowned in Asia. He held onto this ideal until his death in 2018. But unlike the paleolothic mindset Senator Villar has, Sy was already approaching the future of all his endeavors. He made sure there is continuity in all of his pursuits in business. And by doing so, he managed to have his sons to inherit his stocks and ownerships.

With that being said, a statement in this article needs to be debunked. Looks like Senator Villar is a connoiseur of progress, after all. Her endeavors are very much similar to that of an entrepreneur. Given this mindset, she flawlessly interprets social service as a business opportunity. In fact, her position as Senator and directly in charge of Agriculture puts her in such convenience.

Senator Villar makes sure that all of her assets are put into place, in order for her retirement to be fruitful even upon her death. By doing so, she assures the future of her sons and daughters just by discriminating those who she thinks need to enjoy the fruits of progress.

Ergo, Senator Cynthia Villar knows what she's doing.
